This is the Membership Directory for the British Columbia Association of School Psychologists. The individuals listed on this site are certified members in good standing and are therefore, permitted to use the title of Certified School Psychologist in their respective work environments based on the Ministry of Education and/or the Health Professions Act guidelines.

In order to assess and diagnose students in schools, Certified School Psychologists must be employees of school districts or government agencies as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency. According to the Ministry of Education guidelines, when the services of a psychologist are contracted by a School District, that person must meet the requirements for registration by the British Columbia College of Psychologists as established in bylaws under the Health Professions Act. The Ministry recognizes the need for school districts to provide much needed psychological services to your schools; however, if your employee, or contractor, does not meet the above criteria you run the risk of their assessments not being accepted by any BC Ministry or Agency.

Using the title of Certified School Psychologist and affiliating themselves with BCASP can only occur in the school district or government agency listed on this directory. If you wish to seek further information regarding members please contact the Membership Secretarymembership@bcasp.ca
